What's changed: Deepened AI-900 Chapter 5 to the AZ-900 baseline (pretraining + three tuning levels prompt/RAG/fine-tune, generative model types, Azure OpenAI models/Studio/embeddings, Copilot product examples, Content Safety/prompt injection, FAQ)
5.2Azure OpenAI Service and Copilot
Key points
Understand Azure OpenAI Service for using generative AI on Azure, and Microsoft Copilot, the generative AI assistant built into Microsoft products.
Azure offers generative AI in two forms: Azure OpenAI Service to build it into your own apps, and Microsoft Copilot, a ready-to-use assistant. Choose by "build it yourself vs. use it ready-made."
5.2.1Two ways to use it
- Azure OpenAI Service: securely access foundation models (GPT, DALL·E) via Azure to build generative AI into your own apps, with enterprise security, networking, and compliance controls.
- Microsoft Copilot: a ready-to-use generative AI assistant built into Microsoft 365, Windows, GitHub, and more.
- When answers must reflect your data, use RAG (retrieval-augmented generation): search internal docs and add them to the prompt for grounded answers.
